I've beaten the game and am fighting a boss that's been pissing me off because their attacks can cancel out their animation with the attack still going, teleporting behind you, and locking you into the previous attack and the current attack. but besides that shitty boss fight, I found out that weapons have hidden flags attached to them. The Hidden Flags are things that can edit a weapons base abilities, such as, setting some of the damage you do as blunt, slowing your swings, speeding up swings, hitting multiple times. This is important as the setting aside some damage as Blunt means if a boss is resistant to blunt then you're doing less damage, a weapon that has great stats but slow swinger can ruin the weapon as some weapons are slowed down by 33%, and that's unacceptable, that makes a weapon litterally unusable.

Either way, hidden weapon info is bad. Also, are the weapons static, like that weapon is always garbage, or are these flags randomly generated on random weapons? Being a souls-like, I have to assume it's static, but the way you spoke of it sounded otherwise.

Like a lucerne having stabby and bashy damage, or a greatsword being slower to add a weighted feeling to it.

Example, my Greatsword's description is stated to be surprisingly light for it's size, but Weight is a stat and it's a lighter than usual great sword. Weight does not equate to swing speed from what I can tell, and it actually has a flag that makes it swing faster than other Greatswords, but with the weight stat it doesn't make you think that it swings faster.
