No, I've seen the movie he's talking about, It ain't cloverfield, I just can't remember it's name.

A highschool kid, his brother, and his best friend go to a party, fall in a hole, find a metorite, touch it, gain telekinesis. Catch is the first person I mentioned is abused by his father and a massive case of autism. The Telekinesis is also shared, so if one person uses it too much it can cause the others(and the user) to die with excess usage.

It was an alright movie, I liked the ending.

Very easily could not've been a joke though.
