“Hmm,” Sofka said nothing more.

Stealing food stores wouldn’t be an option then. Ryker mulled over their options moving forward. If he had the weapons and time to spare, he’d simply train the towns, but they had neither. Intimidation tactics could work, but there was no guarantee without knowing the mayor the guard captain, even if they did come off as cowards. “Are all the guards acting with them, or are some still on your side?” He asked.

"We don't know." The woman shook her head. "It's too dangerous to try and find out, but if there are any allies, they're playing along for now."

Veronica nodded "You're right." getting up and leaving rather quietly as Bair was just getting pumbled.

“Does this serve any purpose?” Sofka asked louder, directed at Grim.

“Hopefully there are more than less, but I agree, finding where loyalties lie and any further info on this issue,” Ryker agreed.

"It's a place to start," Ryker said. "And one sympathetic will know who most of the others are as well."

"And how exactly is he supposed to defy physics when you're giving him no instruction on how to? No tools to achieve something that's impossible?" Sofka asked.

"What does he look like?" Percival asked.

"A soft face, blond hair but it's basically all cut off so I don't think it'll help too much...My best suggestion for identifying him is just to wait for him to show up soon, he's patrolling nearby right now. Passes by the house occasionally down this road, only one that does at this time of day." The woman tried to explain, not sure how to identify someone who is mostly covered in standard issue armor.

Bair went at him again, as Grim casually punched him down and said "That's enough for today, Bair."

Bair sat up quietly as the clerics healed him up. "How am I doing?"

"Well you're learning" Grim said positively. "You're focusing on the task at hand and not succumbing to frustration. I know you heard me talking to Ms. Sofka here. You tuned it out to try and focus on landing that hit"

Bair nodded quietly feeling bad he basically was ignoring Sofka. He heard a concerned tone...that's about it. Grim stated "I've also noticed an increase in your speed."

Bair's eyes widen a bit "Really? I don't feel any faster"

"You are faster, it just doesn't seem like it to you. However, I noticed it" casually he said "However my conversation with Ms. Sofka brought to light a few things. Bair...did Ryker see Inora's movements first"

Bair nodded and said "Yeah, he's amazing. But it was so weird...in the heat of that moment...the more it dragged on. I started to see not that she's quick tempered but...her battle style. It was...like...I knew..."

Grim sighed "I figured," He carried on "Bair, we need to address something. I noticed you learn things only before or after a conflict. That is incredibly unhealthy, and Ms. Sofka, whether she realizes it or not, has made this my primary issue. The sparing will be put on hold for more...interesting lessons."

Bair was super quiet and asked "What kind?"

"Well, that's for me to know." Grim stated with a smug look. "For now, rest...go to your girlfriend or go do...something else. Understood?"

Bair nodded and said "Yes sir" and began to leave.

"I'm just an outsider looking for work, fairly unknown face," Ryker said. "It's a good intro to gauge standing, helpfulness, and the like. The ones loyal to their mayor and captain in this aren't going to give me the time of day, in fact I'd guess they'd want me out to keep from interfering, no?" he looked to the woman for confirmation.

"I recommend finding something sans Veronica, for once," Sofka suggested to Bair as he passed.

"It's a safe assumption, but I haven't seen them handle any sort of dissent myself." The woman replied.
