"We keep track of your information so no one else can get it, it's part of our little protection thing. More trouble than it's worth in my opinion, but they don't pay me to think." Mafdet shrugged. He seemed honest, though it was impossible to know if he was just good at lying or not.
"I just wanna kill those dicks at the checkpoint that tried to arrest us for having guns in the trunk. Why didn't we kill them?" Hathor asked.
"Because paying them to leave us alone is easier than dealing with some bodies, dear." Mafdet replied.
"We don't have to clean them up. No witnesses, no problems." She replied.
"Well, then we'd have cops on the road. That'd make our job a lot harder if we have to get these two around the cops, dear."
"But what if we-"
"We're not killing the cops too, Sek."
"Aw, then we don't get to kill anyone today?"
"If someone's really after them like the info told us, we might end up shooting some people."
"Oh, alright. I can wait then." She replied. At this point it was like Skyla and Andy weren't even in the conversation, they were that casual talking about all this. Either they weren't lying, or this was a very well rehearsed lie.
