I want to try a new type of Thread.
The Unlucky 13 is a group I created. It's a group of people who are known as the Street rats of society. These 13 individuals are Outcasts some with weird abilities, and all with a backstory.
I'm going to create the 13 main characters by name, appearance, backstory, and position in the group. Personalities will be up to the person who selected the character. All but ONE is reserved for me. The setting for the thread will be Steampunk Post Apocalypse , however this thread will not have Character Sheets, it will have 12 choices for a character to pick.

Abandoned when he was a young man by his parents who thought he was nothing but trouble, Peter learned at a young age how to survive by any means. He felt isolated and alone for a majority of his life, living on the land with no one to speak to no one to talk to. Just himself and his own thoughts and memories of being abandoned. However, one faithful day he came across a young name named James Hydra and helped him from being killed by Desert Bandits. With this deed, Peter asked what was going on with James and James told him his whole story. On that day, Peter swore he would help the poor downtrodden members of society, by any means necessary.
Position: Leader (It's why everyone else calls him Bossman)

Born a rich man, James Hydra was used to being looked down upon due to his wealth. His family also didn't really want him because he was born from an affair so he was looked at as second rate. James eventually could stand it no more and ran away from home. That proved to be a costly mistake because his survival skills were limited. Eventually he nearly died that when the Desert Bandits attacked him he looked at as a blessing. A way out of a terrible life he was given. Due to Peter's kindness he has a renewed lust for life and a new passion for technology, and for that he'd be eternally grateful.

Forced into the Military of the Republic of Zanza, a Republic that controls the area where the Unlucky 13 live, Amy's life was a living hell. She was treated like crap because her more masquline soldiers didn't want her in the military at all. She also was constantly denied her dream of becoming a master chef. Her life hit a fever pitch as she was on what was supposed to be a scout mission down a cave, when a freak accident caused her and three others to be trapped. Four were in there...only one woman survived having to resorting to eating the others and distilling their blood so it was drinkable. She was...severely punished, lashed in public display of "what happens to soldiers who disobey". Left to die on the platform, she looked up to see Peter offering her hand to her. Peter offered her a home and freedom from a horrible life, with no other alternatives she took Peter's offer and never looked back

Linka is Russian, which wouldn't be a bad thing however in this new world it is believed that Russians caused the current state of it. She fell victim to prejudice and hatred that eventually reached a terrible point where she was framed for a crime she didn't commit by the Zanza government. She was going to die, however she was rescued by Peter, James, and Amy.
Position: She's actually a master Mechanic so she is the Head of Vehicles.

Born as the son of the bandit chief and with the incredible abilities to form flames around his hand without being burned, Kyle's life was set for criminality. He took charge of his group and he hurt, robbed, and killed a lot of people. His crime spree ended however, when he broke his one and only rule. No child is to be murdered... If was an accident with his fire powers and he decided to turn himself in afterwards. On the walk he saw Peter on his way back from a Raid. Peter looked at him and said that he could go to prison, or go somewhere that he could atone for his sins. He joined the Unlucky Six at the Time and he wouldn't have changed his mind for anything in the world.

Tina was born as a cattle rancher of a special kind of cow that could survive on the horrible terrain. Sadly, her father died when she was young and when she was born her mother died during child birth. She was put in the capable hands of the Farm Hand. However, said Farm Hand was attracted to her, and to keep her home she was forced to do all sorts of "favors" for her. Her mind was about to break when Kyle, not Peter, who was out on a food raid run discovered this crime and fought off the Farm Hand, freeing her by killing him. Tina was grateful and eventually grew a crush on the gruff Kyle. Kyle in turn grew to love Tina for herself and not her body. The two are in a relationship.

Fang was born a research experiment with no name. He was created to be the ultimate scout for the Zanza republic, however he was to powerful escaping onto the world and becoming a monster that tore apart anyone in his path. Fang spotted Peter out near the Unlucky 6's base, He launched an attack at Peter, who defended himself and knocked Fang out cold. Peter took him inside and took care of Fang showing the beast kindness he never knew before. Now...with limited english...he wants to show the world that a monster is on the inside not out.

Backstory:
Hanta was raised under the regime of an imperial milita that is set out to take over the Republic of Zanza. He wanted to rid the world of it, wanting to make a better place however the Tyrants who ran the milita saw him as something else. While having his family under threat, they made Hanta into a master assassin. Hanta made ONE mistake on a mission and a critical Imperial target got away. Because of this slight mistake, the Imperials killed his entire family. Enraged Hanta attempted to start a revolution in secret but only ended up being captured for his trouble. He managed to escape and steal a transport ship, but crashed next to the Unlucky 7's base. Peter saw the crash with the others and helped him inside taking care of him to the best of their abilities.

When Katlyn was young her entire town was slaughtered in a Desert Bandit raid. Three were captured, but only one was spared, Katlyn herself. She was sold into slavery and was traded around like an object to be used in all sorts of ways. The main thing she was used for was the fact that her medical expertise is unrivaled in the days of the end. She knew how to treat most injuries most illness and worked her ass off to stay alive while keeping the bandits she was sold to alive as well. Peter saw her toiling to get ingredients from these bandits and grew silent as he saw the bruised and beatings that she endured. Peter stole her from the Bandits, killing the Bandit Leader by shooting him in the face. Katlyn than watched as the rest of the Unlucky 8 burned the camp to the ground. Grateful for her freedom she moved on with her life swearing to keep the members of the Unlucky whatever number they had at the time alive.

Emily's story is one that was unbelievable. She was part of a research experiment by the Zanza scientist. They wanted to recreate Angels, and experimented by using feathers stolen from dead angels. They imbued her with powers beyond any imagination but put her body keeps rejecting the disease. She was discarded as a failure until one day, she overloaded and leveled her entire research base. Peter saw the explosion and came to her aid taking her to the Unlucky 9's base where Katlyn works tirelessly to restore her health.
Position: N/A Though she is an avid reader.

Dagan was a bandit that was left for dead by his crewmates. The Unlucky 10 saw him and Peter taught him how to be a better man. There's not much really to tell with him.

Jackson Yotan has another name across the sands, and to the Republic "The Great Triceratops" . He's a military genius and combat expert, knowing how to push people to their limits. He served the Republic loyalty, however one bad accident and he was deemed useless. With no where else left to go, he ran into Peter who offered him a place to live with the Unlucky 11 and well the rest is history

Fredrick "Freddy" Cottonwall

Backstory:
Freddy was born into a work program that created child soldiers. He was a remorseless destructive assassin, trained to terminate any enemy the Republic deamed as a threat. His training made him ruthless and twisted in heart until one day he battled Peter who got caught during a food raid. The battle left Peter and Freddy near death, but Peter ordered that Freddy get treated. Unfamiliar with kindness he has spent he past year regaining the innocence of youth that was stolen for him. During combat however, he switches back to the monster of old and it's hard to regain him back to where he is now.
Position: N/A he is the Youngest of the Unlucky 13 at only age 10
