I quickly bounced some ideas with a couple of folks and think I might've found a better way to structure the thread - since a crossover thread would be pretty cool in my opinion. With some lore tweaks and a big expansion on the setting the thread takes place in, hopefully it'll be more engaging and not just a character v character fest. Some of the ideas for changes:- There is no longer a team Kahn. Characters are free to do whatever, though I suppose some ('main group') will still be marked by Jaarus.
- We don't just get the chance to introduce characters from other threads - but their entire worlds*. The worlds will all be interconnected and relatively easy to travel between, rather than keeping everything in a fixed setting. Seeing Galvin fumble around a modern setting was pretty funny, although it could easily go the other way now - for instance, a modern character finding themselves in Elodus, or Fendriel.
- Said worlds are under invasion by mindless creatures that obey Kahn. I'm not 100% sure on what to name them yet so suggestions would be great (first thing that came to my head is worldeaters but idk if I 100% like that) - they're physical embodiments of chaos and they seek to consume everything and make worlds disappear. They need to be destroyed by someone marked by Jaarus to be permanently dealt with, else they will inevitably come back.
Naturally, each world would have to act accordingly to the invasions, so characters currently residing in each world would probably be aware of these creatures' existence - even if they don't necessarily understand what they are. The degree of chaos inflicting each world could totally vary, with some worlds being relatively less touched/unscathed for now, if desired. We can figure that out in a moment.
If you want to use a character but are concerned they'd be considered too 'weak' in comparison to the scaling of other characters' powers - you're free to buff them accordingly if you want. I'll provide a stock explanation as well. Although it's definitely not a necessity, and probably adds more flavour if there is variation in people's abilities.
The main world the original Pawns took place in will still exist too, but will no longer be the only/main stage of course. People are free to do what they want as well with their characters within whatever worlds. Linear stories don't seem to last as long after all.
I suppose I won't be against the creation of new worlds/characters too, of course - although the spirit of the thread is ultimately a crossover of elements from already existing stuff.
*Ucoz threads/dead threads are also welcome to be added. However for convenience I'm going to probably omit newer threads which haven't had chance to establish much - meaning GP, Lor and maybe CCC. However I'm more than happy to permit them to be included if anyone specifically wants them involved. Seeing as I wouldn't want that to bar characters from those threads from appearing if desired - these worlds, if not specifically desired to be included will be considered already consumed by chaos and having vanished, their characters now either gone with it, or having escaped to other worlds. Facina and other threads with drastically lower power scaling/capability due to a lack of superpowers/magic will also be consumed by default, unless once again specifically desired.
WoD/3K is a tricky one. While WoD/3K/RotS/Facina are all considered one timeline, I feel RoTs is easier to separate from its 2 predecessors, whereas WoD and 3K feel much more strongly linked. If nothing really works out, we can omit WoD as a world - however, I could alternatively say that 3k's world in particular got extra-fucked by Kahn's power, splitting its timeline into separate worlds. Making WoD a separate world, yet retaining its continuity with 3K and vise versa.
Alternatively if nobody objects, I could sacrifice Chronos to being consumed by chaos and say that's what cause the time-split.
Would anybody be interested in this? And furthermore, feedback and suggestions for adjustments and such are appreciated.
