A small, unassuming and dilapidated town spread out before the two travelers. The only thing that set it apart from all the other small and forgotten towns in the country was the massive black church and spire jutting into the sky. It was as Ana said it was: the stones were pitch black and cold in the sunlight. Some were missing, having fallen off at some point, and demonic gargoyles lined the roofs like sick jesters. Maybe once shining and magnificent, the church and its spire emanated darkness. Despite the sunny day, the town seemed bathed in the church’s shadow. “That’s…yeah,” Ana said, sighing.
