Athena blinked a few times, the response catching her off guard. She broke the stars off. “Yeah, well-uh. Uh, now you know,” she paused to count. “Seven.”

Woah.
That was mean.
That was fun.
"Yep. Seven magical people, all together in a Seattle apartment...Actually, I can kind of dig the Fate angle now. Seems like a sitcom. 'Watch these Eight magical people try to master their own powers while dealing with a tangled web of personal intrigue that threatens to tear them apart!'"
She could see it now. Ten outa Ten. She better be played by Danny Devito. Accept no substitutes.
"Did you know any other magic people before today?"
“Mmm yeah how this love confession plays out will be an interesting one to see,” Athena muttered in response to the personal intrigue. “I have met magic people before. One.” She said it with enough finality to convey she probably wasn’t going to talk more about it. Not on this moment, not over pizza at least.
”Well, maybe I can tell you girls more sometime,” Peridot offered.

Sometimes a social interaction was like feeling around in a dark room. You'd be feeling for hard angles, gently trying to make sure you didn't touch anything sharp.
That, right there, was something sharp. Stephana counted herself lucky she didn't get cut.
Banned topic list: -Why did you learn to fight? -Why are you homeless?
-What happened to that one Velkar?
-Wanna smoke weed?
"I mean, I wander the country for twenty years," Stephana put the social spotlight back on herself to give BT some room to breath, "and I'd never seen one. Unless you count Mom."
And she didn't.
"Still, figured if I met one it'd be in the back of a crowded bar in Austin. Not...here. And not seven at once."

(Just remembered I never posted for Bart) "What if other velkar show up here though? They won't be able to find us if we don't leave something." Ken asked.
Bart managed to get to the allyway just in time to see an unnatural shadow go up a wall. Great. "Real pain in my ass right now." He mumbled, throwing a grappling hook up the wall so he could start climbing.

Frost sighed and said "More Velkar in our group is a good thing, but trying to leave nothing. You forget that once this snow melts there's going to be dried blood on the ground...my blood"
Max petted Hades before he had tuned into the conversation the two young women were having. Fate and where people belonged in the world. He'd wanted to join in and contribute - but frankly he had no idea where he stood on any of this. He'd never had time to really think about it between committed home-schooling once he'd turned 10 and his rigorous 'extra curriculum' alongside his father and half-brother.
Seth thought to himself, how could I continue from here? The brief mentioned the target had been shopping so he had to be residing not too far from here. Blood in the snow perhaps? He would've been bleeding out if he was hit. Was there any CCTV nearby?
The twins nodded to Peridot, looking much more comfortable with everyone else. Did everyone else also got caught in the blizzard, and ended up here too?

"Well you used the blizzard before you got to the house, so the trail isn't gonna lead all the way here." Ken pointed out. "A lot of that blood would've been soaked into the snow. I'm more worried about..." Ken frowned. "You didn't leave a bloody snow trail, did you?" He asked in a quieter tone.
Bart reached the top of the building, unhooking his hook. "Hey, wait a damn minute kid, you're gonna wander into the enemy if you keep running around like that."

"Possibly." Stephana conceded, "but I'm not convinced. I only knew about this hangout because Princess sent out the message, and Princess only sent out the message because she was comfortable enough to spread the word. Meanwhile, I only went looking because I chose to walk around and look for it, and it was Peri who welcomed me in instead of turning me away."
She nodded to herself. The logic seemed sound - unusually so, given who was connecting the dots.
"This moment is made of choices. Ours and others."

"We can hope." Ken thought about it for a moment. "Wait, was there a flash of light when you ran back here to get Peridot?" He asked. "Like, when you went through the door."

"I don't really recall, I was only focused on getting to Peridot to see her before I died or maybe get some help. Again, thank you for keeping me among the living" Frost stated again. "I didn't really see anything" He then paused and looked out and said "You know...there's another reason why I want to go back. With Peridot and me surviving it could be possible that...one of our other group of old survived as well.
I'm thinking of Shade" He sighed "I wish Peridot was hear to discuss this too. Shade was her most loyal knight, he stuck with her for all of this." Frost leaned back "He also told me specifically a secret he kept from her because he was afraid that not even she would understand.
Ever since the fire, I always had hope that Shade and Peridot where the only two to survive" Frost said looking forward "Other than me of course. I want to go back to give us a home in the Heartlands, and see if...I'm right. If I"m wrong at least we'll have a home to ourselves"
(I even do have a place for the group to hide. Hummel Park. It's said to be haunted and as someone who DID go there. I can say it is, but since this is a Ghost Free story we can jsut have the group be behind the rumors )

Frost paused at that "Oh geez, sorry, I would love you and the other new ones to survive as well, that's why I am suggesting it, I know a place that's big and easy for us to hide in plus is "supposedly haunted" it can all be explained away trust me. That "always changing stair case" is because it's all rotted and stuff but we can use the "Hauntings" to our advantage as we hide, all of us. I'm sorry if I forgot to mention you guys, Shade's kind of important to Peridot and me too. "

"Well yeah I get that, I was just wondering why you weren't hoping the others from your old group survived. Do you think they were traitors or something?" Ken asked, curious.

(But it's not haunted) "You're still a kid, don't act like you're invincible." Bart replied, getting his lightning gun out as he walked over to the other side of the rooftop. "Plenty of people still drop dead in those suits."
