"Oh come now, am I forgetting something important? I didn't think you'd be this upset with me missing a single dinner, Elind." Amondel asked, less joking and more serious now.
As the two knights came to rest against two trees, Galahad looked over to Percy with a hand over his one raised knee. "What happens if we can't get any of the knights to rejoin us?"
"Hm?" Percival looked over to Galahad, taking a moment to process what he said. "Well, we hire mercenaries then."
"With what funds?"
"We'll cross that bridge if we come to it."
"I'm not begging people for funds, Percival." Galahad stated with a deepened frown.
"Nor am I. We'll figure it out if we have to." Percival assured him. "I just hope it's easier than it sounds so far."
"It's never as easy as it sounds. You of all people should know that now. Your plan was impeccable, and we lost because none of us accounted for what would happen if they just killed Pendragon."
"I know." Percival leaned his head back against the tree, letting out a sigh. "Gods above I know, you don't need to remind me."
"I won't let you forget, not because I'm blaming you for our failure, but because you're the one we need to keep alive now."
"There you go saying "we"." Percival smiled a bit. "You do think we can do this, don't you?"
"You have me, of course we can do this." Galahad did not smile, instead diverting his gaze elsewhere.
"I'll hold you to that." Percival lowered his head in relief. "And don't compare me to Pendragon, we don't know if I'm even half the leader he was yet."
