"Tillman hasn't exactly been around either, Modred." Charlotte frowned after taking another sip. "Antigonus can only do so much even with the rest of us senior members trying to get him to take classes."

Mark followed her quietly, catching the last part of the conversation by a Starlight.

"Why? It's party night right now, unless you're gonna do some personal partying," Mordred raised his eyebrows at the two.

Gabby listened quietly. So they had classes too?

"I...honestly don't know. He's--" the doors to the party slammed open and there he was, Tillman himself. "Hello my lovely Lambs, let's get this party STARTED!" He laughed loudly and the music cranked up. A shadow settled over Alice's face but Antigonus grabbed her wrist. "Leave it for tonight."
She looked at him briefly, then Tillman, then back to Antigonus. Slowly, she sat.

Mordred chuckled darkly into his drink. "What a night this'll be..."

Tillman launched himself into the crowd amidst cheers and shouts. His booming laugh echoed around the room.

Gabby was flabbergasted. "I understand nothing," she said, loud enough for the group of Mordred, Reyes, and Charlotte to hear.

Antigonus sighed. Same old same old... He looked back at Alice who, although externally calm, looked to be raging a war inside her head. "C'mon, let's go talk outside, I'll answer any questions you have."

Reyes nodded and walked towards Tillman and said "Excuse me sir..."

Mordred stepped in front of Reyes, stopping him in his path. "I wouldn't bucko, don't approach higher ups. Let them approach you, stop seeking your death."

Gabby looked at her. "Everything?"

Tillman was lost to the ecstasy of the party relatively quickly. The blood he had just washed from his hands stained his soul and he needed to forget what sas done/

Antigonus sat on the balcony, swirling blood around his wine glass. Alice was sitting with her legs dangling in the open air, swirls of darkness playing in the curls of her hair. Everything was quiet save for the lines of music filtering out through the cracked door. "Tillman is under suspicion, as is Hyren. There have been a lot of unsanctioned deaths here recently." Antigonus nodded, he had noticed.

Charlotte nodded to herself. Newly awoken. "Come on, I've got another place we can talk without all this music," She glanced at the direction where Tillman was before taking another path to an adjacent room.

Mark followed, unsure.

Liz looking apprehensive, joined into the crowd of dancers. This was the first time in a long time she had done this.

Mordred slid next to Liz as the New Blood walked away. "You? Joining in?" He teased.

Gabby followed Charlotte, sticking close to Mark.

Alice put her head in her hands, quiet. Brooding. Antigonus side stepped a leeching shadow. "I'll help where I can Alice, maybe you can get the coven under some control. Tillman doesn't care anymore... Charlotte and I are the only ones who remember how it used to be... Maybe you can bring it back to the former glory, the kind we had, the kind you made. I was... Always so proud to call you my pupil.."

Reyes approached her regardless and asked politely "Can you teach me the basics?"

Susan scoffed "Her? You'd be better learning from a dumpster"

"You know Susan, why do you have to be such a bitch?" Reyes scowled at the older sister.

Susan snarled "Excuse me?"

"So what if she dresses a certain way, and so what if she's making friends with a New-Blood. It's her life not yours" Reyes said glaring at her. "So give her a damn break"

Susan hmphed and said "Fine, but it's your funeral dumbass"

Twiska paused, then slowly gained a smile. "Come on, the best way to learn the basics is not in a room full of people" Reyes nodded and they went to the elevator to go to the bottom floor.

Twiska and Reyes went out and then to a back alley.

Twiska smiled at Reyes and said "Okay Reyes what do you know about vampires?"

"Umm, just that they drink blood and I guess the stuff you see in the movies" Reyes admitted, the minute he said that last part Twiska just broke out laughing.

"I..." She cleared her throat, but still was very amused "I'm sorry, it's just I knew you were green, but I didn't know you were THAT green. Okay lets start off with the obvious, what the movies get right and what the movies get oh so very wrong."

"First and for most, yes you are eternal now, if you play your cards right. We have vampires in our clan that grew up in the Great Depression, and some of them were in the Golden Age of Pirates." Twiska said with a smirk. "Second, yes, you plus the sun equals bad things to you. You're still a new blood, so I suggest you avoid the sun like the plague."

"Why?" Reyes asked "Does it...hurt?"

"Oh horrifically to new-bloods like yourself. " Twiska responded "Some of our more experienced members of our little society can walk in the daylight for short periods of time. A new blood like you though? You'll fry like an egg"

Reyes gulped as Twiska said "Okay, now here's what the movies get wrong. Mainly what can kill us. Now pay attention as there are many things that can and will kill you if you don't know what you are doing." She cleared her throat "But lets get the stuff that can't out of the way, Garlic does nothing I use it my cooking all the time, a Cross..." She laughed "Shove it up their ass. Running water? That does jack shit, I know because I bathe all the time. A wooden stake to the heart won't kill you as much as paralyze you for as long as the stake stays in. Though honestly if it's left in forever, you'll be a lifeless stump that can only see and hear the world around you without any ability to interact, so you know...fates worse than death"

Twiska sighed "Now for what can kill us, avoid knives and bladed weapons they cause serious harm to your body. Your body can take a lot of punishment but weapons can still hurt and if they do enough damage then well...it was nice knowing you. Oh and fire, avoid it like crazy, even ELDERS fear fire. Other than that, your body can take a ton of punishment"

Reyes smirked as he started to think back to his previous life but Twiska interrupted "Now, even though I said that, I am going to teach you the most important lesson and you really REALLY need to listen to me. Yeah, you're a monster with a lot of superpowers now, but keep quiet about it. Don't go bench pressing cars, don't go feeding on humans, don't go out running a train, don't do anything stupid. Preserving our secrets is the most important thing."

Reyes asked "Why?"

"It's why you didn't know this when you woke up, it's why you didn't know any of this until now. It's just simple survival" Twiska explained "We hide in the shadows so we aren't burned by being exposed in the light"

Reyes paled, but Twiska gave him a weird look "Hey you look pale Kitten? You had a drink?"

"Just some blood in a glass last night..." Reyes said quietly.

Twiska smirked "Okay then...follow me" She opened the sewer hatch and reluctantly, Reyes went down there. "Okay then, this is a perfect spot."

OUt of the corner, Reyes and Twiska spotted a sewer rat, Twiska explained "Okay, this is the last lesson of the basics, everything is clan politics and that should be taught by your elders. Simply put it's hunting to preserve your beast within"

"What?" Reyes said quietly "I thought we drank humans" Twiska groaned

"Don't you pay attention? I said don't do that. We abandoned that a few months ago and with good reason. It started to get humans suspicious and that is not a good thing. We settle now on drinking animals. Less of a commotion, as long as no one gets greedy" Twiska explained. "Now then, have you ever hunted before?"

"No" Reyes admitted and Twiska smirked

She said this deliberately to tease him, "First timer huh?" which caused Reyes to go red in the cheek "Okay, this is very simple, crouch down and be quiet then pounce and aim for the rat's neck. Now remember this moment Kitten, it's never as good as the first time"

Reyes backed up and then leaped grabbing onto the rat, he looked at the thing struggling, took a deep breath and then bit on the things back and neck, feeling the blood draining inside of him, until eventually he felt it stop coming and let it go." Twiska was laughing her ass off as Reyes looked at her confused

"You rat sucker!" Twiska said laughing "Look, I don't judge, honestly I think this is the easiest way to tame the beast within, but higher vampire society frowns on that"

Reyes smirked and said "I don't care, give me some salt with my rat" He got up and said "Though you keep going on about the beast within. What does that mean?"

"Okay, this is important, especially for a new blood. The Beast within is a term we use to describe us going into a blood craze. Hunting is what keeps it tame, and most of all, keeps yourself feeling more human than monster. Hunting will keep you sane, and trust me, we need you sane. A blood crazed vampire is a dangerous vampire" Twiska explained. "Okay, lets get back to the party"

"We've been in a sewer" Reyes said confused.

She smirked and said "Don't matter, come on!" They climbed out of the sewer and headed back inside towards the Elevator.

"Thanks by the way" Twiska said

"I should be thanking you" Reyes rightfully said confused at Twiska's thank you.

"You're welcome for teaching you the basics, but it's been a long time since I was able to just hang out like this without someone just trying to get into my pants" Twiska lamented as Reyes blushed "It's good to have someone with some honor around here. Though Kitten, if you want to learn about Vampire Politics, you're gonna have to attend those night classes in your clan. That's something I can't teach you"

Reyes nodded and said "Thank you Twiska. It's nice to have a friend too" Twiska smirked as the Elevator opened and they walked back inside.

Reyes decided to go to Charrlotte and ask about the Starlight Clan. "Hello Charrlotte I wanted to know more about our clan's history if that was okay?"
