“I saw a man flying on golden wings and followed him,” Athena said. “Turned out to be Ken, and Peridot was there too. I just followed them back here.” She was tempted to talk about how she was searching for the people who killed Melvin, but kept that to herself for now.

"Ken?"

Stephana furrowed her eyebrows.

"Who's Ken?"

She didn't recall meeting a Ken. There was Frost, Peri, Nice Guy, the Wolf Kids, the Dog Kid...

"Uh, the never unhappy guy? Always positive?" Athena said.

"Hmm? Oh, sorry, what?" Peridot asked. She had gotten distracted and lost in her thoughts.

"Oooooh! Nice Guy!"

She...never actually learned his name. He fell into the nickname pit, and...yeah, he's stuck in the nickname pit.

"So Nice Guy was just flying out in the open? Like it was nobody's business?"

Frost asked "Actually, I've been meaning to ask. Why did you never teach me how to do that?"

"Really, huh. I thought Peri was going on and on about how secret everyone's supposed to be, and here comes Nice Guy, soaring out of the blue like superman or something."

Flying people...she took another sip, and the concept struck her again. Magic. BT was magic. She was magic.

"We're magic. That's so cool."

There was a chuckle from Frost as he said "Hey sometimes that's more appreciated."

"Well. look," Athena said, placing her cup gingerly between her knees and holding her hands out to Stephana. Her knuckles were calloused and scarred over, and her hands were covered with small scars.

Max continued to stare up at the ceiling. He was lost in his thoughts, daydreaming. Considering every possible route this new turn of events in his life could take him. Everyone here seemed to... different. He'd mostly known higher society, given his father's affluent status. He'd never asked him just how he acquired his wealth - though he'd frequently guessed to himself. Everyone here, even this 'princess' seemed so much more down-to-earth and absent of any real etiquette he was familiar with. Etiquette... or was it actually a strict set of decrees?

Seth stopped. He'd found tracks, "Here we go." He muttered to himself as he examined them. He resumed walking once more, now following the tracks.

Athena had jumped a bit in surprise, the wine sloshing up and onto her jeans. "Ah damn," she said. "Don't worry, it's fine. Happens. It was a lot of practice. Five years."

"So...hot chocolate?" Peridot asked.
